Winter Returns

After eight or nine days of Spring-like weather, it cooled a bit last week. Friday was gray with rain/snow/mix type precipitation off and on.

Today started with a Winter Weather Advisory for slick roads but by mid-morning the temperature was above freezing. Bear and I headed to town. I’ve not been shopping on Saturdays lately…mid-week or Sunday to avoid as many people with various bugs as possible :) !!

But, this week got away from me and I felt like getting out and about so off we went.

The valley was clear and sunny, but the mountains on all sides had snow squalls here and there. The northeast wind felt very cold after a week of warm breezes from the southwest.

It is supposed to be single digit temperatures tonight and tomorrow night before we warm a bit to February “normal”.

Winter returns.

Feels like Spring

Despite the date of February 15…it feels like Spring!

It has been sunny and warm … all is relative, but this is Montana and it has been above freezing for over a week!

And it has been sunny since Friday.

It feels like Spring!

“We’re back!” say the chairs

The chairs informed me earlier today that they had something to say, but the day got away from me.

I doubt that they will forgive me anytime soon as today was a beautiful, sunny day which would have allowed them to express themselves in the BEST possible light!

Such is life.

Something is better than nothing??? I turned on the spots and allowed them to speak this evening…

“We’re back!” say the chairs.

*** After 2 1/2 days of above freezing temperatures, the melt was slowed yesterday by clearing skies and cold temperatures. NOAA says that will end Friday when we will warm up again.

The chairs will no doubt have even MORE to say next week.

Change

We are past the mid-point of January.

I think I often decide to change up the blog look mid-January.

So, I lightened it up! And I updated the About page including a new photo of ME!

Photo taken this very day!

Meanwhile…the weather…it changed also.

It got warm.

As in above freezing.

And it rained on top of a new inch of snow.

STELLA!!!

Ok, not “Stella!”, but it was a cry of anguish from the Auggie-boy. I think he, as well as Bear and me, are a bit tired of not being able to go out in the woods as per usual. And then rain and mushy snow.

Gah!!

Mid-January.

Change.
