New Year’s Eve (early) moon

It was very early New Year’s Eve at 4:30 p.m.

But with sunset at 4:53 and the sun at a low southern arc… it was perfect light to catch the waxing Gibbous in the still blue and dusky sky with the fading sun’s rays lighting the snow on the trees.

New Year’s Eve (early) moon.

Full moon

The branches I intended…the wire, I couldn’t help.

Full moon.

***RV notes: Propane furnace won’t light and previous fix of starting engine did not resolve. The frig does not show a fault like it did last time the furnace failed. Fortunately it is not super cold and I have a heat pump for when the temp is above 40 (9 a.m. – 7:30/8:00 p.m.), electric heaters and a floor heating system with the engine. We’ll be fine until Wednesday when we have an appointment at a shop.

***Auggie and Bear saw the vet here today. Routine stuff that I ran out of time for before I left home. All well and a very nice vet.

Hopefully a calmer night today and day tomorrow – Friday!

Sunday Sliver

A beautiful clear morning at 7:24 a.m. As I write this, at 8:03 which is sunrise here, a foggy mist is rising in the woods.

It is 39F, forecast to be sunny with a high of 62F and tomorrow to 68F. It is still shorts weather – on October 19 and 20!

Happy Sunday!

Waning crescent: sliver of a moon

The super moons are beautiful as the rise and set are extra large and bright, but my favorite moon stage is the crescent…when the moon is a sliver…as it was this morning.

“thin as a sliver of a raccoon’s ear”
