It was a dark and stormy afternoon

The forecast was for afternoon thunderstorms with heavy rain.

It got dark.

Thunder rumbled.

There were some sprinkles and the thunder kept rumbling…

And then a whoosh and I mean a WHOOSH of wind before the heavens opened and it absolutely poured.

I don’t recall seeing wind and rain such as we had with this storm.

The chair has never been overturned before.

The red chair was not in the yard…

It was over Beardog point and down…

The front porch was soaked all the way to the house!

The culprit passed…but as I write this post, thunder is rumbling again.

It was a dark and stormy afternoon and I think the stormy is not over yet.

It’s hot

A bit later it was 92F.

Hot.

Bear…sniffing the hot air.

Even Auggie chose the shade.

Hot.

Everyone in the shade…

Mama, it is HOT!

We like cool.

Morning’s have been beautiful.

Emphasis on “have been” – above photo is from Tuesday morning (7/8).

There are fires to our west and THIS morning there was haze and smoke.

And it is hot.

Well, it feels very hot to me, but the truth is, the highest temperature per my house gauges has been 90F. And while that is hot, there were several years, including my first summer in this house, when we had weeks of mid to upper 90’s. And 80’s felt good after those 90’s.

I keep telling myself that it could be much worse. Actually, it might get hotter per NOAA.

The good news is that the yellow jacket situation is mostly not a situation at the moment. The woods is not buzzy, the front porch is usable. The chairs on Beardog Point are useable.

There are some skeeters when Bear and I take our last walk 9-10 p.m.-ish but otherwise, not much intrusive in the bug and flying thing realm.

It is hot, though.

And it kind of zaps all of us of energy.

We like cool.

Summer, summer go away

After last weekend’s wonderful cool…it got hot.

Not my favorite.

Not Bear’s favorite.

Auggie deals…

The summer influx of persons is astounding.

6 weeks of too many people and too much heat.

Summer, summer, go away!

More rain

After 5 days of sunshine, temperatures in the upper 70’s/low 80’s (F) and a final day, Wednesday, of perfection at low 70’s with a wonderful breeze…we are back to rain.

But Wednesday…no photos as I was out after finishing my work, enjoying… enjoying feeling 100%, enjoying a perfection of a day and also doing a few of the yard chores that I missed over the weekend.

But, today, Thursday:

Raindrops on everything.

So far, this round, it has been drizzly vs pouring rain.

I think it got to 57F today.

It feels good.

I am enjoying the green and the cool and the moisture.

More rain.
