Srsly??

So this is the valley floor … at the airport. It is always the hottest or coldest spot. Still!

The highest on my home gauges.

Still kind of HOT for September 24!

Appealing to a higher power???

Hot enough to bring the Auggie Boy in for the afternoon.

And the Bear boy also.

Sheesh! The geese and the RVs have been heading south for the last 2 weeks.

It is the 2nd full day of Fall…in MONTANA!!

And it is hot.

First day of Fall

Although we often have beautiful warm days in late September and early October, it is not that often that we have hot days this late, but it feels hot. I was in town late morning for a hair appointment and the salon had doors and windows open and everyone, including me, was overdressed and too warm.

But, it is sunny and beautiful and we will enjoy it…

…outside as much as possible.

This is part of a new trick that Auggie taught me. He gets on the garage roof via a little tree, looks around until he’s ready to come down and then meows for me to come and get him with the ladder.

I am apparently easily trained.

I do need as much exercise as I can get…

I think I will get some cutting that darn tree down!

Rescue complete and all inside for supper.

First day of Fall.

Snow

On the mountains – the Continental Divide – East of the road home…

Snow.

And snowing.

And you know I’m VERY happy – I LOVE cool weather!

When thunder roars…go indoors

NOAA says “When thunder roars, go indoors”

I think that is good advice.

Bear and I took a lunch hour trip to Bigfork.

Going and returning, the clouds were building up over the mountains to the east and to the west.

Smoke in the air and afternoon clouds building…on the road home.

A bit of virga (rain not reaching the ground) and the clouds darkening…

But vivid blue sky and building thunderheads to the west…

Just as I parked the Jeep in the garage, the first bit of thunder rumbled.

We headed in…

When thunder roars…go indoors. Thunder, a whoosh of wind and heavy rain. Twice.

Dark and stormy

It was a dark and stormy…

… morning!

But, by late afternoon, it was clear.

And we had another happy time outside.

But, as I write this – at close to 7:30 p.m., thunder is rumbling and the sky is dark.

It looks like we will end the day as we started: dark and stormy.
